Surratt wild at Perris MX PERRIS, CA, NOV. 10 Former 125cc Western Region al Supercross champ Will ie Surratt scored back-to-back moto wi ns in the co mbi ned Pro class while tuning up for the World Cham pionsh ip MX season during GFI Super Sat urday MX at Perris Raceway. Surratt wasted no time and led from start to finish in the first Pro moto. Randy Moody rode strong. charging back from a bad start to clai m second in front of Tommy Clowers and Dana Wiggins. Moody slid inside Surratt at the start of the second m oto an d held Surratt back for one lap before he cha rged to th e lead. " H is bike is real fast. he p ulled inside me and just out powered me". Moody said. The Bonacci brothers did serio us damage in the 125cc Begi nner class. with Tom winning and J oh n scoring a third-place finish. In the first moto a great battle between Tom Bonacci and Ji mmy Wilkey erupted. The SCf3p came down to the last lap in the final tu m where Tom Bonacci led the way but got trapped behind a lapped rider. Wilkey swept around Tom Bonacci and the lapper to snag the checkered flag and the first moto win. Tom Bonacci do mi nated the second moto with brother John followin g in secon d while Wilkey had his ha nds full wit h Dann y Way throughout the race. Steve Banning led mos t of the first Vet Intermediate rnoto, but a hard cras h dropped hi m to fou rth wh ile Larry Nannenga picked up the lead and held it to the checkered flag. Ban n ing charged pa st Rich Richards and Jimmy Hanson on the fina l laps to finis h second. Bannin g holeshot the second moto and rode flaw less wire to wire. Nannenga started fifth but had lots of tro uble with J rmmy H ansen. Hansen foug h t Banning mo st of th e moto with Na nnenga sq ueaking by near the mote's end.
