" I would 've had a sho t at winning it excep t for the 60 poi nts at the seco nd check," sai d KX500 pilot Roeseler. " It was a bad day for me." Fourth overall and the first A rider to cross the line was Curt Wilcox, wit h a sco re of 3193, and Wal den 's 3229 earned fifth overa ll and first in the 250cc A divisio n. Ku rt Ho ugh was back in the runni ng for the fina l event of the day, the Dash For Cash. that promised 500 to the'Iastest rider ro und three laps of the motocross course. Ho ugh was out in front a ll the way in the first qualifyin g moto, but it was time for Roeseler's revenge when the 12 fastest qualifiers , lined up for the main event . "Now things start to get seri ous," s:lid Roeseler, who wast ed no time sp rint in g to the fro nt of the pa ck.
