The Nove mber 6 ballot w ill have some 20 propositions and bond measures to confuse and confound voters. CORVA has taken a position on t hree which direct ly affect off-roading . In an effort to save our m em bers the considerable t im e required to read t hrough the hundreds of thousands of,words produced about each of these measures, allow us to tell you about the three which spell bad news for off-roading . Proposition 128 (BIG GREEN) Recommended Vote: NO Analysis: This measure will create an " env ironm ent al.czar" who would have more power than the Governor or the Legi slat ure in many environmental matters. Rumored ready torun for the position of environmental cza r is the measure's sponsor, Tom Hayden. This spells big trouble for off-roading. Proposition lJO (FORESTS FOREVER) Recommended Vote: ·N O Analysis: This measure will raise money to buy up private forest lands and turn them into special preserves. Guess how much off-roading will be allowed in these new wilderness-like preserves. Proposition 149 (Parkand Recreation Bonds) Recommended Vote: NO Analysis: Once aga in the Park and Recreation Community is asking the .vot ers to finance every imaginable kind of park project. Everything except off-road parks. Until they decide to include us with other recreation projects, we say forget it! 1 FOR GOVERNOR PETE WILSON Pete refused to let Cranston Desert Wilderness Bills proceed until off-road access was guaranteed. Thanks to Pete Wilson, the wilderness bills are dead for another year. HE DESERVES OUR SUPPORT! FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL DAN LUNGREN Dan will stop Van De Kamp's efforts to make th is 'office a legal arm of th e radical environmental movement. He w ill get tough w ith lawb reakers like Earth Firstl TAKE THIS WITH YOU WHEN YOU VOTE! CONTRIBUTIONS TO HELP DEFRAY THE COS T OF MAILING THIS IN FORM ATION WILL BE GRATEFU LLY RECEIVED.
