~ NEW BIKES 1991 Suzukis ~ GSXllOOG and GSF400 Bandit highlight 1991 lineup 0':1 0':1 ........- u zu ki recentl y introdu ced its ent ire 1991 fleet of off-roa d and street models to its dealers in Orlando, Florida, and highlightin g the 24-bike lin eup are two all-new street machines - a sporty-loo king but econo mically minded GSF400 Bandit and a more convent io na l-styled, fai rin gless GSXlIOOG. T he first-year Bandit features an inlin e four, liquid-cool ed, 398cc, DOHC four-s tro ke motor , with a four-intoo ne exha ust pi pe. The motor was desi gn ed to pro vide stro ng torq ue yet still deliver pot ent po wer at th e upper envelo pe of th e rev range, with redline at 14,000 rpm. Suzuki engi neers had both th e entry-l ev el and moreexperienced rider in mind wh en develop ing this engi ne. Obviously, the most eye-catch ing feature of the Bandit is its steel-tube diam ond fram e design, whi ch sets the Bandit apart from most conventiona llook in g street bikes, as does what Su zuki describes as an art istic a lly scu lp tu red gas tank. The GSF400 als o features three- S Suzuki added two new street bikes to its lineup for 1991 - the GSXllOOG (above) and the GSF400 Bandit (left). The GSX1100G features the simplistic style of yesteryear yet retains the benefits of modern technology, as evident with its GSX -RllOObased four-cylinder, DOHC powerplant.: The Bandit, on the other hand, was designed with both the entry level rider and mo re experienced rider in mind. It features a four-cylinder, water-cooled, 398cc engine, tucked inside a modern-looking steel-tube diamond frame design. T he new GSX-R750 (below) feature new colo rs, styling and inverted forks, as do all the 1991 GSX -Rs. 18 spo ke, 17-inch a lu m i n u m wh eel s, front and rear disc brakes, a six-speed tra ns missio n, easily replaceable handlebars, independent speedomete r and tachome ter and a ci rcu la r halogen headl ight. ' The -Bandit will be available in two differen t colo r sche mes - a ll red, and two-to ne blue and silver. It will carry a suggested retail price of $3699. P erhaps the m ost ta lk ed ab out motorcycle at the Orlando deal er show was the a ll -n ew sh a ft -drive GSXlIOOG. Eyeing th e GSXIIOOG qu ickl y brings ba ck mem ori es of Su zuki's popular GSllOOE of the early '80s, with the GSX-G's back-to-b asics and simple styling. Despite its conventional ap peara nce, the GSXllOOG is adorne d with modern technology, as _ eviden t by the GSX-RllOO-based, fourcy li n der, air/oil-cooled (Su zu k i Advanced Cooling System ), DOHC engine.
