Back by popular demand is the KTl\I 300 ElXC (above), which will be
accom pan ied by its smaller brothers the 125 and 250 ElXCs. The
en du ro-ready ElXCs feature numerous suspension, chassis and engine
ch anges , as do es the rest of th e KTl\I family . Joining the off-road force
is the all-new 300 T I X C (Trail/Cross Country), which is the
sa me as the 300 EIXC, except for minor internal changes to make it
O ff-H igh way-approved (89 dbs ), The KTM 250 MX (left), as do all the
'9 1 KTl\Is, feature new graphics and coloring, revamped White Power
suspens ion co mpone n ts, modifi ed dis c brakes, larger diameter front
ax le, new sea t, red esigned fork protectors and a quieter exhaust
system .
The largest displacement two -stroke of KTM's fleet is th e
540 D/XC (righ t), wh ich is heavily influenced by four-time
AMA National Hare &: Hound Champion Da n Smith. The
D/XC (Desert/ Cross Country) comes with a 3.2·ga llon ga s
tank, a five-speed transmission and a 38mm Dell 'Orto flatsli de carburetor. The DIXC models are also available in
250 and 300cc displacements.
KT M's o nly fo ur-stroke mod el is the 600 LC4. It features
motor modifications to increase horsep o wer, a d ose-rat io
five-speed transm issi on, im p roved cooling circ ulation and
a new ignition adva nce curve for im p ro ved starting. The
big fo ur -stroke will carry a suggested retail p rice tag of
$4759.
