back-to-ba ck title at the final ro und of
the Nationa l Champ io nship 250cc MX
Series at Kenworthy's G P Club in
Troy.
Stanton came into the final round
with a slim , nine-point lead o ver
Kawasak i's Jeff Ward and left with the
series cha mpionsh ip in han d, seven'
points up o n Ward . Ward , however,
was the overa ll 250cc class win ner at
the Boyesen Racing/ Scott USA/Dunlo p/ WAZU Radio-sponsor ed Nationa l
with a 2-1 tally , while Stanton took
second via a 1-3 score.

p lanned to come and try to wi n th e
first mo to and take .it easy in th e
second , bu t I reall y want ed to go ou t
wi th a win . It jus t didn 't work o ut that
way. It feels great to win the championship. Now I have to keep working
hard - there's on e more to go."
