and Dut ch sand, as he finished third
overall with a 2-8 score. Fellow America n T yson Voh land was th e runnerup wit h 5-3 finishes.
Schmit grabbed the holeshot at the
start of the first mo to and tried to leave
the pack behind. T rag ter was conte nt
to set hi s own pa ce and quickly began
closi ng on Schmit, and just befor e the
halfway point of the 40-minute -p lu stwo-l ap mot o T ragter took th e lead .

Belgian Stefan Everts claimed th ird
af ter struggling past KT M's Bobby
Mo ore. Ame rica n Moore dropped
severa l other positions an d fini shed

Moore's KTM team ma te and compatriot Mike Heal ey was worse off, as
he cra shed while ba ttling with Everts,
the n he enco u ntered gea rbox problems , whi ch knocked him ou t of the
race with five laps to go .
Voh land charged back fro m a poo r
start to claim fifth at the finish, just
a few secon ds behind Fre nchma n Yves
Demaria.
H ea ley regrouped fo r m oto two and
led fr om sta rt to fi ni sh. Trag ter
q ui ck ly passed Demaria and went
a fte r H eal ey , bu t a fte r se ve ra l
u ns uccess fu l attempts to ove rta ke th e
Ameri can, T ragter backed off to sett le
for seco nd and th e overall wi n in h is
home GP.
Schmi t raced wi th leaders at th e start
but was soo n pas sed by Vo h land and
Moore. Schmit couldn 't ho ld off Everts
either, as the Ameri can slipped back
to eighth beind fellow Ameri can Rick
Ryan at the finish . Everts lat er cras hed
at th e ha lfway point and broke hi s
wrist.
