Vet Pro moto with Gary j ones and Ron Turner a close seco nd a nd th ird Turner found a way ar ou nd J on es, then a r p1ied heavy pressur e to Tri pes [or the rest 0 the mOlD. Tripes held Turner off to win. while Turner was a close second and jones, Gary Chaplin and jim Odie rounded o ut th e top five. T urner wasted no time in th e second mOlO, pulling the hol eshot a nd leading sta rt lDfinish unchallenged. Val Tamieui kept Turner in sight for hall the moto until Tripes closed in . T amiett i and Tripes battled hard during th e final laps with Tamietti holding Tripes ofl. T urner took the overall, with Tripes seco nd and Tamieui third. jim Od ie was co nsisten t for founh and Gary Jones salvaged fifth a fter a second~moto crash . Turn~ dominated the 250cc Pro class, winning both mOlDS with large leads. Gary Jones finished second and jim Chamberlain rounded out the top three. Foxe ran away with the m oLO wi n. while Hallsay cruised in second knowin~ he had th e overall sin ce Fox e crashed in the fust molO. Mike Ulrich finished second o vera ll, Todd McKay took home third, a nd Willi Zart h a nd Ow en Dickwn filled in the top Hve. Rich Taylor was Hne·tuned m the l25cc Pro race. Taylor lead both moto s and was never challenged at any time during th e run. Daryl Atkins rode smoothly and took a pair of seconds to Hnish seco nd overa ll. Cod y Aucl a ir was third. Rob ert Pfetzing went lO th e o u tside and pulled next to th e two- ti me Natio na l Champ ion as they came off the second turn . Sch wa ru, Kin g and Mike Faria were even. In turn two , Sch wartz and Faria pinched King and dropped h im to th e sho w spot. As th ey went into tum three, Sch wartz drifted wide int o Faria 's lin e. That o pe ned up th e in sid e and Pfetzin g screamed pa st Fana for second. The actio n stayed tight through th e seco nd lap as Schwartz was only three bik e lengths ahead of the last place rider. Pfetzing tried lO ~o o ne step higher in turn tWO on lap three, trymg to knife his way inside th e leader . Riding the KN AC /K&N / P ro mo tio n Products/Russell & Russell /Oakley Special, Sch wartz blocked him. Pfetzing parked and King went into second. ~ By the tim e. King passed Pfetzing, it was too late to catch Schwartz. King stayed in second followed by Pfetzing and Faria.
