Ma lyszek took the moto win over Jim H en n , w ho had worked up from a poor start, and Barnhart. Bunch sto le the holesh ot in moto two with Lou Soto, Jerry Jetton and Ga lland breathing down his jersey. J etton quickly d isp laced Soto and began to nudge Bunch. After passing Bunch , J etton pulled away from th e rest of th e field. Meanwhi le, Malyszek worked u p from a midpack start a nd pressured Galland for third. Malysz ek got by Ga lland, but co uld n 't get past Bunch for second. J etton took an easy win over Bunch, Ma lyszek, a nd H enn. Gary Doggett got the jump on th e rest of th e O ld T im ers class in th e first moto, but cl os e behind wer e Jim O 'Neal , Robert Fortier a nd Lee Arnarad io. Doggett rode like a teen ager and steadily pulled awa y fro m th e rest o f th e pack. O 'Neal and Fortier di ced bri efl y, but O'Neal held on to ta ke second. O 'Neal sto le th e ho lesho t in the concl uding -rno to with Fortier and Doggett chasing. Doggett went to work and by the third la p of the 10-lap moto had acquired the lead. O 'Neal h ung to ugh and kept Doggett in sight, but on th e n inth lap went over the bars and cras hed hard. Fortier inherited seco nd , j ust a head of Amaradio. Doggett too k the moto and overall win, while Fortier bea t Amaradio for second overall. T he 250cc Novice clas s sa w Dennis Dahlin grab th e ho leshot ahead of Gi ovanni Spinali and Aaron Pain ter. Dahlin pulled away from Spinali, who was fending off th e charge s o f Pa inter. Dah lin took a co m mand ing win over Spinali, Painter and T im H allisay, who worked up from a 10th pl ace sta rt. Dahlin was left on the grou nd as th e pa ck ex ited th e first turn in th e second moto, Spinali took th e holeshot over Hallisay and Painter. Hallisay tried every tri ck in th e book to get by Spinali, b ut cou ldn't fi nd his way into the lead. SpinaIi took the moto win over Hallisay, a nd Da hlin, who had bl itzed th rough the pack af ter his firsttu rn spill.
