It started in 1972 at Indian Dunes on the reg ular motocross track . In those day s the one mile co urse look ed like a Grand Prix to the mini riders hence the name "World Mini Grand Prix," Th e motocross World Championship then moved to Escape Country . Sadd leback Park and finally to its current hom e in Las Vegas in 1985. This is truly a world championship for all racers with classes for Pee Wee s. Jr. cycles, Min icycles. the Super Min is. 125's. 250·s. open and Veter ans. Beginners through ex perts take to the cou rse at Las Vegas Internat ional Raceway which is re-confi gured every yea r to ensure fairness . One of the highl ights of the Kawasak i World Mini Grand Prix is the "Kawasaki Race of Champi ons." It features the best Minicycle racers in the world on 15 identica lly prepared Kawasak i KX 80's from Pomona Kawasaki. Th ey race three motos and alternate bikes each moto . They never race the same bike twice and dra w for machines in the opening rnoto. It's the IROC of motocro ss and de termines the best of the best minicycle racers. It's closely followed by enthusias ts and the Press alike. Grea t troph ies and prizes await those who part icipate from all the co mpanies who support this world cha mpionship incl ud ing Scott USA. Th e first half of round two will run Saturday aftern oon and finish Sunday mornin g. Sunday afternoon will play host to the ch am pionship rounds . run offs and climax wit h the Kawasa ki Race of Champions.
