" You kn ow. it doesn't seem like I've been doing it th at lon g, " Parker said. " But I have. Things just happen so qu ickl y. Before you know it the offseason is over and a new one is here. All the years help me in the long run. I ca n tak e what I've learned. the experie nce , and that's on e th ing I've got over Chris Carr. But you look at J ay (Sringsteen )and he's got even more experience than me. Each guy's got their years of experience and it helps. " His competitors have often said that Parker is at his best in the fina l laps ....of a National, especially at the mi les where only seconds separate th e ent ire field. " 1 think at the end of the race is where that exp erience comes in." Parker said. "T he years of being th ere and thinking about what's going to happen. Plus. the last three or four laps is when it's tim e to start go ing. The pa ce starts picking up and if you feel like you can go faster. that's the tim e to do it. As it does th is season. the Daytona Short Track opened the AMA Grand National Championship/Camel Pro Series last year, and Parker didn 't fare well.
