M icky Dymond won his heat race and placed fifth in the main. He leads the series point standings. Hughes co nt in ued hi s climb up th e ladder and managed to displace Young to third on th e final lap, a s Jeremy McGrath lost a position to Voh land. Holley took an unchallenged victory over Hughes, Young, Mulligan, Vohland a n d J erem y McGrath. Davis led McGrath, Dan Berg, Thomson, Vohland a n d Mike Young aft er th e rubber band sta rt of th e final. Davis' lead wa s short -lived as he was quickly kn ocked back to third. "I wa s second at the s ta rt ," McGrath sa id , " and I saw an o pe n ,jn g and took it. It was th a t si m p le." r McGrath powered past th e former - eam Suzuki rider and m oved into T th e lead before th e co m p letion of the firs t lap. After tak ing over th e lead, McGrath ope ned up a sm a ll cus hion a s Vohland fou g h t his way into second. I T he lead th at McGra th worked so hard to bui ld was soon cu t down by Vohland o n lap four. The p ressure was only felt for a lap sin ce Voh land slid ou t an d restarted in sixth .
