Voh land took over th e lead , and Lamson recovered in time to remo un t in fourth beh ind Pederson an d H eal ey. Voh land proceeded to o pen u p a co m fortable lead, a nd tak e th e checkere d flag ahead of Pederson, H eal ey an d Lamson. Mike Fisher stole th e hol eshot in th e open ing 250cc Pro moto, but right o n h is tai l were L amson and But ch Smith. H eal ey rai led past Fisher as the y began to la p slower riders and began to reel in Lamson. H ea ley a nd La mso n engaged in a heated d uel th at carried them well ahe ad of Fish er. H eal ey took th e lea d o ver an u phill j um p , but fell o n th e last lap , allowing La mson to scoot by. H eal ey remou nted in second a nd rode like a madman trying to repass Lamson. H ea ley took th e lead just before th e checkered flag , follo wed b y La mso n, Fi sh er a n d Dean Ma tson. Lamson timed the, ga te perfect ly in the seco nd moto, leading H ea ley, Lowell T homson and Fisher onto th e track. Lamson and H ea ley pulled away from the pa ck as they a rg ue d o ver th e lead, Fishe r ove rtook T homso n a nd tried to cho p away a t th e. fro m -ru n ne r's lead . O n la p seven .
