In the 125cc Beginner Division One cla ss' Tracy Asher a nd J ason Belisle ba tt led for the lead in th e first rnoto. After fa ll ing ba ck, Bel isle charged a nd took the win . . Belisle moved into second before the finish , whi le Asher n ip ped Hau g in the final tu m to earn third a n d ru nn er -up o ve ra ll beh in d Belisle. In mot o one, Robbie Pat erson held off Damon Siso la for th e entire moto to tak e second. Justin Leeds finish ed fourth and Chris Ladely moved into fifth when J on Izworski a nd Ri cky Fernandez bum ped and p rov ided a n open ing near th e end. As Mount ran away wi th mo to two, Karl Lindst rom maintained seco nd ahead of Leeds. Sisola and T erry Beal moved by Leeds, bu t a t th e fin ish Leeds was back in thi rd. Beal and Paterson went down near the finish, givi ng La del y fourth. . Mike Metzger (22) leads Steve Hengeveld on his way to the Mini Intermediate class victory. Eric Wright fini sh ed poorly in ro u nd o ne, but ca rne from six th to hound J ohnson at th e finish in th e seco nd rnot o. Oscar An ch eta finished a sho rt d istan ce behind in th ird with Will o h looking for a way to ge t by in the fina l co rner. J aso n Willi ams c hased L ouie Peick to the fin ish line in th e first Open Nov ice class rnot o, but co uld never fin d a wa y by hi m. J im Absh ird passed Don Cl in e to cla im th ird and Mike Mani sca lchi ro u nded o u t th e top five. Peick , Cl in e and Mi ke Seeley stayed close tog ethe r o n the ir way to second th rough fourt h. Peick was back in the first division o f the 25-29 Yea r-Old Novice cla ss a nd took the lead on th e second lap of the firs t five-lap moto. J eff Yo u ng had a see- sa w battle wit h 125cc Kawa saki-mo unted Eri c Cas as , and after switch ing places a lmos t every lap Casas clinched th e runner-up posi tio n. Casas put hi s 125 into th e lead a t th e start o f mo to two a nd Peick moved his 500cc Ho nda in rig h t behi nd him. T he two riders battled for the lea d and moved a way fro m a clos e race for th ird betw een Bill Scott, Young and Randy Van Dyke. Peick wrestled the lead a way from Casas when th ey got the white flag, but Cas as rep assed on the final la p to ta ke first a nd the overall win . Scott held o ff Young for third. Derek Na tvig a nd Dana Wigg ins had a close battle going in the early stages of the first 125cc Intermediat e Division One mot o until Natvig negotiat ed so me traffic from th e 2529 Intermediate cla ss, which starte d o n th e first ro w, quicker than Wigg ins and pulled aw ay to the win. Wi ggins tu rned th e tables in' th e second mot o , passing Natvig on th e second la p then movin g awa y to the win. J immy O 'Neal led the first Min i Beginner class mo to from start to fini sh, while Dea n Van Riper kept him in sight o n his way to a seco nd place finish. Josh Am aradio captured th ird ove r Aaron Alta m ira no, Bader Marmeh (007) leads 125cc Pro class winner Jeremy McGrath in the first mota. Manneh won the mota. but crashed out of mota two, while Raym ond Moral es held o ff Mike Van Noor dt to ro und o ut th e top five. O 'Neal led th e first th ree laps of mo to two before he fell ba ck to 18th a t the finis h. AItamirano took o ver in O ' Nea l's dem ise a nd fini sh ed first, but Van R iper 's seco nd pl ace in the mo to gave him th e o verall win.
