Mi ke Brown trailed Bradshaw home in both classes, but took th e 125 and 250cc A class championships. When the gat e dropped for th e 125cc A moto, Brown took the lead with Kevin Walker, Chad Lough a nd Jeromy Buehl following. By the end of lap one Bradshaw was up to third and drawing a bead o n Walker, wh o eventua lly went down a nd lost eig h t po sitions. With Walk er o u t o f the wa y, Bradsh aw chased down Brown and took th e lead . Brown 'stayed close for a few laps, but Bradshaw pulled away for the win. Brown was far ahead o f th e field for a secu re second, while Stevie Childress, who had go tten o ff to a bad start, pa ssed Buehl on th e last lap for third. Buehl and J a y Mann rounded out th e top five. Brown al so claimed th e holesh ot a t the sta rt of th e 250cc A event and led Bradsh aw for a lap. On lap two Bradsh aw slip pe d into the lead and stayed th ere for th e rest of th e race, enterta ining the fans with aerials o rr th e jumps. Brown was second once aga in by a coup le of seco nds, 'wh ile Walker occupied the th ird spot at th e fini sh a fter battl in g with fourthplace Ch ildress a nd Mann , wh o ro unded o u t th e top five. In th e 125cc B class, Jamie Hacking pulled the holesh ot and after a br ief cha lle nge by Leonard Bennick, p ulled awa y for th e win, wh ich a lso earned him the series cha m pio ns h ip. Bennick swa p ped seco nd wi th Rusty Col em an severa l times before Col eman dropped back o n th e last la p wi th a rear brake failu re. Only one point separated Senior A class co m pe tito rs La rry H arrison and Mi ke Eads, but th e day was dominat ed by Mike T a ylor.
