T he Nissin fro nt brake calipers with four, staggered- diameter p istons are retain ed from the '89 model, but the brak e rotors are now grooved ra ther than dr illed, a nd are now 5m m thi ck. Thicker rotors with grooves have more mass to extract heat from th e pad su rface, rather than all ow ing heat tra ns fer to the caliper pis tons, wh ich are also fitte d with insu lator blocks. A new fro nt brake mas ter cylinder wit h a n increased bore size (14 to 15.8 mm ) provides a sligh tly firmer feel at the brake lever. La stly, new whi te/ blue and white/ red/black color sche mes and gra phics give the GSXR a bold new look for the '90s. T he VSl700GLPL an d VS750GLPL Intruder cruisers are largel y un changed, and retail for $5999 and $4499, respectively. The debut of Suzuki's o th er 1990 models will have to wait until th e dealer show.
