The 12 fastest riders lined u p for the Over
40 O pen mai n even t. Fifty-eig h t-yea r-o ld
. Danny Deu bl er was th e first o ne m to th e fir st
turn , o nly to be passed by J o hnn y Isaa cs in
turn two. Norman Lehfeldt foll owed o n
Deubl er 's rea r wheel for thi rd po sit ion.
Deubler fought back to regain first o n lap
three o nly to be pass ed aga in by Isaacs o n
lap four. There were n u mer ous lead cha nges
in laps five. six and seven as Deubl er and Isaacs
bauled back a nd forth.

Deubler led in to th e first co ne r o f the last
lap and th ro ug h th e second corne r wit h Isaa cs
o n his rear whee l. Isaa cs used the draft to good
advan tage as he was able to pa ss Deubler in
corne r three to ga in a slig h t adva ntage whi ch
he ca rr ied o n to the checkered flag.
The seco nd da y o f raci ng brought more

len gths beh in d th e lead trio. Hilgenberg
dogged th e CZ rider in every corner a nd p ull ed

the lead fo r the first lap . H alfway th rough
