After the first of five rou nds. the fans kn ew it would b e a very in teresting n igh t as five of the p re rac e favorites failed t o get a win. Housto n won by two foll owed by Ven egas . as Ledu c, Martin and Curry lined up for the run-off. Martin broke the tapes and was sen t off. leaving Ledu c and Cu rry. Ledu c gated first and kept Curry behind to pi ck up th e win a nd third o vera ll. In th e Support cla ss cha mpin nsh ip Bob Co lli er gated first an d too k th e lead wit h Bobby Hedde n fighting Mark Squadrito for second. After Hedden put Squadrito away he shot after Co ll ier.
