a nd bar ely mak ing it 10 th e line for his first
race. Mike Green p ull ed hol esho ts in bo th
heats and pulled awa y from the field at the
N MA/RM D YSR50 Road Race at Amago
Raceway.
In th e firs t heal of th e Ama teur Modifi ed
cla ss Gr een ca me off the line closel y foll o wed
b y Jim H erin. T he pai r slow ly p u lled away
fro m th ird pl ace rider T ravi s King , who was
soo n passed by Ro bert Ga llo . Green began
to p ull away from H enri a nd esta blished a
lo ng lea d. H eun was so lidly in second with
no cha llenge from G a llo wh o was also under
no p ressure from behind. Green was the ea sy
winner , Henn took seco nd and Callo fin ished
thi rd. Green repeated hi s fla g-to-flag lead in
heat two with th e sam e battle behind. Hen ri
aga in held seco nd and Ga llo passed King for
a seco nd tim e. The finish was the sam e as
in heat o ne. Gr een far o u t in fro n t, H enn a lo ne

were steadily pullin g away from the pa ck.

Near the end o f the race, Bennell passed Lo ng
for second. Fee cro ssed the line fir st. Bennett
was second a nd Long third. Benn ett tex>k no
chances in heat two ; pulling the hol eshot a nd
p u lling away quickl y. Long and Fee were
d icing fo r second ri ght from the sta rt . Fee
pa ssed Long Ihen cra shed Jelling Long back
m to .;ccond and all owing N ick Cavalier to
move up to third. Bennett enjo yed a long lead
and Lo ng was in a solid second leavi ng the
race for th ird . Dave w olff was movi ng up and
passed Ca vali er to ta ke over third. T hey

was so far back in th e pa ck he co uld n' t be
seen. By the end o f lap o ne, Brem enour was
in third and mov ing up slo wly o n Mark Allen.
