Cagiva-mo u n ted Leo Sau l pi cked u p th e slack a nd bega n to close o n th e leader wi th G reg Pagan in th e n umber three sia l. Bacon was riding wildly, making u p for lost posi tio ns q ui ckly as he sliced an d d iced hi s wa y through the ranks. On la p six Bacon pulled in behind Saul for third a nd the two 125cc riders d iced for seco n d until two la p s lat er when Bacon slipped by.
