PRODUCT EVALUATION Zero Gravity Windscreen While reading through the product literature for Zero Gravity's colored windscreens, we noticed one phrase in particular that so u nded interesting, if not far-fetched. "The flu orescent green a nd yellow screens seem to brighten and sha rpe n vision," it read. " O ur blues and bronze a ct as temper ing filt ers, helping to cu t sun a nd road glare." Hyped-up, over-exaggera ted advertising is co mmon in the world today, but could an item as simple as a windscreen reall y serve more than th e si m ple function o f deflecting wind a nd debris, a nd sti Il allow a clear view of th e road ahead ? The ans wer is yes. After taking less than 15 minutes to a ttach o ne o f Zero Gravity's red windscreen s to o u r test bike, we cruised down th e boulevard at high noon and promptl y dis covered that th e red scree n did cu t down glare from th e road 's surface. Sunlight often pi erces through a windscreen ca us ing a bright refl ection, a nd su bseq ue n t distra ction , off o f a polish ed fuel tan k, a nd we not ed that thi s was no longer happening. Now th at we kn ew that the screen worked in th e da ytime, we had to see how weIl it worked a t ni ght. T he red screen appears dark even in daylight , a nd we wonder ed if it would render us sem i-blind at night. Even though th e Zero Gravity screen did impair our vision some, it still left eno ugh light to see by. The view wasn 't th e grea test, but it worked better th an we thought it would. Although most of th e windscreens on today's sport bikes are too low to see th rough unless you tu ck in in road race fashion, it 's com fort ing to kn ow th at the scree n does more than improve your bike's looks. 'The bri ghtl y-colored Zero G ravity . scree ns also add a n add itio nal safety fa ctor by making the bike more visible to motorists. Or to spo nso rs, if you're rac ing - just ask AMAI CCS Endurance Challenge Champions H yp er-Cycle.. . T he Zero Gravity Corporation claims th at its scree ns are some o f th e most d urable o n th e market, and a t 1/ 8-in ch are th ick er than many OEM screen s. Zero Gravity's screens are mad e individuall y by .hand, molded with air, and personall y inspected to g uaran tee each windscreen is opticall y correct and free from imperfections.
