Coolbelh kept in front lh e entire length with Todd just a lenglh or two behind. while Ricky Winseu and Alexa nd er started to swap the third Spol. with Alexa nd er go ing in fro nt on lhe final lap . Robert Miller held the point in the 100200cc com bined final . with Coolbelh taking the lead as 'hey be!;"n lhe lhird lap. In a repeal of th eu heat race , Pr ice and Mike Varnes pulled away from the field . but lh is lime. Varnes held th e P."inl position in the 250cc A class. Framp ton wasted little tim e as he CUI-ju m ped Bolton after th e start and took co m ma nd o f th e lead . Meanwhile. N ielson was cha rgi ng up £.ro m a poor sta rt and was up to sixth by la p lWO. Lance Walker wa s also o n th e move and pa ssed Don aldson for fifth. As th e pa ck so rt ed out, Frampton had bike pr oblem s a nd was forced to pull o ver, a Jlowin g Bolton back into th e lead . Nielson moved up 10 seco nd and by lap five.
