In the first mot o, Yam ah a-m ounted Dou g La nge and Honda rider j am ie Munson exchanged th e lead several lim es before the checkered flag was waved with Lange just edging Munson [or the vict ory. Don Bisceclia was working his Suzuki closer to th e frontrunners af ter a JX>Or sta n . setti ng the stage [or th e equally-exciting second moto, In th e seco nd moto, Lange aga in got the hol eshot, but was followed closely by both Munson and Bisceclia , Munson made his mov e 10 the lead on rhe third lap and [rom that point o n the three riders were never more than a couple of seconds apart, In the end, il was Munson lead in g Lange and Bisceclia acro ss th e [in ish line, giv in g Munson a welldeserved overall [or th e da y. MX By Milton Sta nley CLEVELAND, TN, J ULY 9 A duel between Kenny Kizzar and Mike Brown al Candies Creek saw Kizzar take the bi~l chunk of th e $2000 p~ as he finished first in th e 125 and 250cc A classes, Brown and Kizzar battled in all four races o[ the A div ision, all o[ which evenlually came down to the lWO outdistancing th e rest o[ th e pack. Kizzar's Gear /Scou USAf ArailBarrs Competition-sponsored Suzuki look the ho leshol in the first 125cc A molo. Brown fo llo wed Mike Goolsby in th e first lap, but on the second circuit Brown pulled imo second and nearly caught Kinar in lhe whoops. On the fifth lap, however, Brown's [rom tire stuck in mud al th e end of ·th e same whoops, sending him in lo a spill thaI broke his c1Ulch lever a nd left him in fifth place. Kizzar kepI lh e lead, and Brown fin ished [ourlh. In the second mOlO, Goolsby grabbed ·the hol eshot before Kizzar look the lead on the second lap.
