Most of th e people were okay , but th ere was a n elem ent th ere that didn 't p lay fair and I certai n ly di dn 't ap p reciate h aving things thrown at m e. H olland is n ' t lik e th e o the r co untries; the crowd is so close to th e track a n d th ere is n o fen ce to stop them from ge tting o n the track. We had to go to th e promoters -a n d th ey had th e police around th e track for the second m o to a nd I wo n tha t. Suzuki is cer ta in ly ge tting scared. T hey p ro test m y bike nearly every week to ha ve it measured a fter th e race. R idi n g the sand fast is a specialty. Do you h ave much exp er ience? I don't th ink I became as well kn own in th e U.S. as I sho u ld have for several reasons. First of a ll , I didn't really go aro u n d p romoting myself as much as Bob Moore or Mike H ea ley (Parker's KTM team ma tes wh o were o nce a lso minicycle riva ls), but perhaps it had as much to do wi th th e fact th a t th ey are from California and I am from Lou isiana. You are actuall y from Shreveport. Do you know Freddie Spencer? I don 't kn ow him per sonall y. H e was a big hero of mine, a nd it was a b ig letd own to m e w hen h e sto p pe d racing. I was st ill ju st a kid th en and Freddie was like a god to me, an d it reall y hurt m e to see h im q uit over a wrist injury. It was as though h e had given up. For m e it wa s really great to see a great cham p io n like Freddie come back this year and see th at he h asn't q uit.
