The th ird qualifier saw Pederso n work his way past Kit Kat's T om Carson and David Hand to ta ke the win. Everyone expected La Rocco to wi n th e fin al qualifier, but La Rocco got ca ugh t in th e ga te and had to start a t th e back of th e pa ck. Up front, J eff Beckingt on rode to th e win ah ead o f Ro b McCu ll ough a n d Bowen . La Rocco ran o u t of time in the qua lifi er a nd had to settle for a semi-final win to ad van ce to the mam, At th e star t of th e fin al Pederson grabbed the ho leshot a nd im me dia tely bega n to bu ild a lead over Jones, LaRocco and Brad sh aw . By the tim e Bradshaw worked his wa y past his two tea m ma tes, Pederso n h ad b uilt u p a IO-second lead. _ Bradshaw hacked away a t th e ga p a nd eventua lly ca ugh t Pederson by the seven th lap. A few turns la ter Brad sh aw took over the lead a nd started to take off from th e rest of the pack. Jones and LaRocco bat tled for th e -Iirst half of th e ra ce until they tangled , with LaRocco coming ou t on top for th ird place.
