Gallagher qu ickly moved towa rd the front of the pack a nd seemed to have th e ov era ll wra pped up un t il mechan ical problem s forced hi m to cras h. Wit h Ga llagher out of the way Meagher sli pped into what was th e wi n ni ng location, u nt il T ri pes bumped h im back to the runner-u p slot. Meagh er chased Tripes to th e end, but th e Kawasak i rid er cap tured th e win over Meagh er.
