Factory Ducati rider Raymond Roche was involved in a scuffle at Mosport Friday evening following practice. Roche had just -finished performing a spectacular bumout in his rent-a-car. much to t he dismay of a paddock guard who proceeded to verbally abuse the Frenchman . When Roche responded in a less-thanflattering manner. the guard jumped onto the hood of Roche 's car - an obviously bad move to those familiar with Roche's fiery . temperament. Roche put his foot to the floor and then stopped suddenly. with predictable results - the guard was thrown to the ground. Fortunately. he was not injured beyond scrapes and bruises. Meanwhile. Ducati team manager Marco Lucchinelli was contending with another security guard who had noticed that Roche's car did not have the proper car park pass: " Yo u want passes; I've got all kinds of passes l" the Italian was heard to say . Roche was fined 2000 Swiss Francs by the FIM jury for his part in the incident. British Loc tite Yamaha rider Terry Rymer was less than pleased with the manner in which the riders were treated at Mosport: "I'm a bit pissed off, really," he said. Team Green's support truck and technicians will be on hand at the 22nd Annual Mammoth Mountain MX in northern Ca lifornia to provide emergency parts and technical assisranee to all Kawasaki racers. Sta rting with practice on T uesday, June 20, Team Green technicians will pro vide assistance' with jettin g and suspension setup..Parts will be available after practice on Thursday, J u ne 22. New Hampshire has joined 32 other states in enacting a statefunded motorcycle rider educat ion program. The law . which was signed by Governor Judd Gregg on June 2 . culminates an extensive effort on the part of the Motorcycle Safety Foundation and New Hampshire motorcyclists to make quality rider education available to all riders in the state. The law. HB270. goes into effect July 1 and establishes a motorcycle education program to include rider training courses and instructor training. The program is funded by a $1 increase in the annual motorcycle registration fee and a $1 increase in learner's permit and motorcycle license or endorsement fees. The driving examination required for issuance of a motorcycle license may be waived for applicants who have successfully completed a stateapproved education course. Additionally. the law allows the insurance commissioner to reduce liability insurance premium rates by 10% for motorcyclists having completed the course. CORRECTION: That's Wolfgang, not Wolfman!
