Lawson first swept to an 85cc win in the Su nday mo rni ng Youth event ahead of Mik e McCl ell an a nd Ro bert Stock. After a n hour 's 'rest, La wson was back o n th e track ab oard a 125 for the 200cc B ba ttle. In that 50-rider class La wso n stormed to a one- la p win a nd seco nd overa ll for all B riders. T he da y's top B rid er was Farr ell Smit h, who took a co nvincing win by toppi ng the 28-rider Open B class.
