The veteran racer from nearby Euless, Texas, won his ,heat, the Norrh Texas Harley-Davidson Dealers-sponsored Dash For Cash, and the Expert/junior main event on the half mile oval. Poovey pulled the holeshot with his Marioneaux Racing Harley-Davidson at the starr of the main and he was followed 0[£ the line by Allen Powers, Charlie Orr, David Copeland and Willie McCoy. Poovey had wrenched his knee in a practice session geloff and he rode most of the race "feet up." McCoy put a firm hold on the runner-up spot by the fifth lap with Orr holding down third. At the checkered flag it was Poovey with the win, followed home by McCoy, Orr, Copeland, Gif[ord and Hale. .
