HONDA and YAMAHA Motorcycles present the 1989 DUNLOP U.S. INTERNATIONAL GRAND PRIX ,APRIL 14th, 15th and 16th LAGUNA SECA RACEWAY MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA Defending National champ Randy Hawkins took fourth overall. and Michael Grizzle both with scores of II, taking third and fourth. Southeastern SE&TRA regular Darrell Cox continued his recent hot streak by winning the Open A class with a competitive score of 12, with Travis Hayes taking second with 15. Mike Martin took the overall B win with a 17 point total, edging out Ashely Brewer on tie-breaker points. However, Ashely did .score the 250cc _B class win, with Bobby Moye sliding into second with 18. Martin Pruett won the 200cc B division with a 19 on his score card. In the Four- troke A class, this being his first SE&TRA event of the year, KTM-mounted Barry Higgins carded a 17 to capture the win over ISDE rider Dwight Rudder" who dropped 18 points. John Fero, riding in the Senior class for the first time, took first place honors, topping Veteren Jim Ford by three point, 16-19. Both competitors rode on the same row. Overalling the 75 mile C course was Steven mith with a score of 10, easily beating the second Crider, Robbie McGraw, who carded a 17. But McGraw took home a first-place trophy for winning the 200cc C class over Mike Waters (20 points).
