Stevens trailed in fifth and Chris D'Aluisio ran sixth, but Moore was putti ng o n a charge afte r sta lling on th e line and wo u ld soon join the third -place fray. On the 18~ and final lap, th e order was sh uffled wh en Carter rammed Stevens, sending them both zinging ' past th e chican e. Stevens stayed upright but Carter toppled over while turn in g around on the grass. " Carter hit me so hard I thought we were both going down , " said Stevens . Moore took th e checkered fla g with third firml y in his grasp. "Did yo u' see my stupid start?" Moore asked. " I go t away about 45th . It was do or die out there.
