The Novice class sec tio ns wer e prett y d ifficu lt a nd Ward, Clay Fry a nd Gordon Bode tied with 17 points aher the first loop. Afte r the second loop Bode held a one- point advantage o ver Ward a nd Fry. Alt hough Fry had the best fina l loo p it wasn 't eno ug h as Ward outrode Fry by o ne poi nt, Bode's last loop dropped him thi rd overa ll wit h Craig Moo re nailin g down fou rth place on his Yamaha. Da vid Bolen won the Amateur class on his Beta by ni ne poi nts over John Mizell . Third place fi nisher Gary P ritt wrestled h is a ncient Momesa around the loop and th e old Spanish bea ter fina lly finished with 51 points. After th e second loop of the In term edi a te class it looked like Andre La Porte ha d it wra pped up. A pair of sevens l;"ve hi m th e lead over Pa u l Bolen by 10 po ints. No o ne · else had been abl e 10 post a single digit score until the last loop, Bolen finally wo ke up and brou ght in a six whil e LaPo rte faltered on th e th ird loop, ta king 21 poi nts and dr oppin g to second place . Travis Mitchell ca me in th ird overall o n his Fan tic wi th 41 points . The Expert class was wo n by Mitch Bright on a Yamaha wi th 53 poi nts , Seco nd p lace was cla imed by Rich All ma n with 67 points. The Master class was won by Shan Moore o n a K&N Yamah a with Gabe Mizell j us t six po ints back.
