"As I was leaving the pits I looked around and didn't see Sco tt anywhere, so I thought he had already left, So I started chasing him and used up a little too much of my energy. About five or six miles later, I still didn 't see him, so I thought he was long gone so I backed off a little bit. Then I heard a motorcycle behind me; I looked back and it was Scott! " I thought for sure th e guy would see us coming a nd would stop ," sa id Cunningham. " Bu t he didn't a nd I ra n into him a nd fell over. Scott was so clo se that he T -bo ncd me. By the time I go t goi ng aga in, Sco tt was ab out 100 yards a head of me, a nd th e crash j ust took the wind o ut of my sails a nd I cou ldn 't ca tch Scott. He was j ust in bett er sha pe th an me." Once into th e lead, Pl essinger turned on the afterburners a nd eas ily pulled away from Cunningham. " At th at po int I just wanted to get aw ay from T erry, a nd that's what I did," said Plessin ger. " I decided to turn it up. I had a 40 second lead at the end of th at lap, a nd after the final lap, I had about a minute a nd 20 seconds on him." Plessin ger crossed th e fini sh line with plenty of breathing room over Cunningham. While Cunningham and P lessin ger battled for th e lead, Brown and . Lojak were involved 'in their own dogfight over second and third. They fought fo r the remainder of th e race with Lojak getting the nod over Brown: Seven seconds behind Brown was Zierman. Aaron Hough -a nd Stan Lojak were the only two riders in the 125cc class to complete all six laps. H ough finished seventh, while Stan Loj ak took 12th. • University Children's Hospital at .
