The AMA/WorldSports sanctioned, Monty Myers-promoted event featured over 600 riders , a 75-degree sunny day and intense duels in most classes. The new motocross facility at Hyman Myers Park in Florida's Panhandle represents a monumental effort as 286 l8-yard loads of red clay were hauled in and dumped on the sandy site. Myers said, "I've got a stock car background (NASCAR Champion Bob by Allison's Team) and talked to cycle experts before 1 started construction here. Monty Lusk designed the supercross portion of my track and David Bro wn length ened the circuit to one and three-quarter miles using the four acre section in the back." Myers said, "I wanted to do it right . for these riders.
