Jimmy Button (50) dominated the 12 5cc Intermediate classes. overall in bot h classes ahead of Spud Wa lters. J im m y Button also used three mo to wi ns en ro u te to a pair of overall wins in the 125cc Stock and Modified ' Interm edi ate classes . Bu tton s uffered from poor sta rts throughou t the weekend, but' was always at th e front of the pack when it cou nted. . In the first moto of the 125cc Stock Interm ed ia te class Button chased Richard Saxton across the finish line, top ping Bu bba Erickson, David Germain an d Steven Ko taja rvi by a comforta ble distance. Saxton shot ou t front early in round two with But ton bar el y ga ting among th e top five. Bu tton ra pidly picked up posit ions and near th e halfway point was hounding Saxton. T he hounding o nly lasted a short time as Button motored on by to a . narrow win. Eri ckson was th ird over Mike Chamberl ain a nd Kot aj arvi, The I25cc Stock Intermedi ate class saw most of the same top con tenders chase Button from a di stance across the finish line. Saxton again was forced to tak e th e runner-up position a hea d o f Er ickson w i th Du an e Benner taking a 4-5 tally to fourth overa ll. Kotaj arvi completed th e top five with 5-6 fini shes. Shawn Mor ga a lso won three o u t o f four rnot os, but was o nly able to take home o ne overa ll. Chamberlain was th e rid er wh o upset Morga as he took a 2-1 score to the winner 's circle in th e 250cc Stock Intermediate class. Mor ga topped J am ie Morobito, Benner, David Bagwell and Mike Mennig in th e Modified class . Chris Kefalas wrapped up the 125cc Sto ck a nd ' Mod ified Novi ce classes with a perfect scor e. Ke£alas won both of hi s stoc k qualifiers and th e ma in, th en moved o n ' to th e Mod ified class wh ere he was ag ain vic to rio us. Joshua Dunn, th e winner o f th e o ther qu alifi er, fini shed seco nd in th e Stock class with Colin Co u to, Matt Pol osky and Mik e Fin ch co mp le t i ng th e to p fiv e. Mark Hi gham , Cou to, Guy Griffin a nd Darren Donal son foll o wed Ke£al as across th e lin e in th e Modified class. Bill y Felts a nd Robbie Reyn ard swa pped wins in th e 80cc Intermedia te classes af ter battl in g in n earl y every mot o. Felts' win came in the Stock class where he finished with a 2-1 sco re to top Reyn ard 's I-4 ta lly . Dann y Nelson was th ird a head of Da vid Pin gr ee a nd J acob Swain. Reyn ard a nd Felts a lso tra ded wins in th e Modified class w ith Reyna rd enjoy ing the upper hand. Nelson, Pingree a nd J esse J ames followed in the ove ra ll co lum n. . What wa s expec ted to be a good battl e in th e Women 's Pro class bet wee n Mercedes Gonz alez a nd Li sa Peters on turned to du st as Gonzalez seized two bikes during th e earl y part , o f th e da y. Peterson easily dominated bo th motos w ith Bonnie Warch holding o ff T ami Ri ce fo r th e . number two slo t. Patricia J acques was fourth a nd Gale Webb fifth. In th e 80cc Beginner class Brett LaDue proved that consi stency ca n pa y off as th e Yamaha rider used a Ty Davis (1) leads Broc Glover in the first 250cc Pro moto. They also battled in th e 125cc Pro class. 3-2 ta lly to cla im the overa ll win. Brian Wolf's 4-5 earned h im fourth over Ryan Clark 's 9- 1 score. T he 125cc Beginner class saw Dave Sh elton come back from a third p lace finish in moto one to win round two a nd th e overa ll. Eddie Patteron took the runner-up position with hi s 13 score a head of Troy Kalina' s 2-5. Mark Oesch .used a 9-2 tall y for fou rt h with Steven Knox com p leting the top five at 5-6. Mark Fields was the overa ll winner in the 250cc Beginner cla ss. Fields ca me from a third place start in mot o one for the win ahead of Morgan Adams, Rusty Nowka, Curtis Mineer a nd Wall y Gross. In round tw o Fields go t th e early drop on the ga te to hol esh ot Gross, Adams, Nowka a nd Min eer. Fields' perfect I-I sco re earned him the win.
