the 1O-1 event Lamson fell back to

seventh with Kiedrowski and P h il
Lawren ce Knocking Cook to fifth .

managed to disp lace the former
mu lti-time N ati onal cha mp to
second.
Glover soon lost two more positions as Kied row ski and La wren ce
powered o n by. As th e race p ro gr essed Davis a nd Kied ro wski p u t
more th a n 10 seco n ds o n th e pack
before finishing ahead o f Lawrence,
Gl over , Kerry Mulligan and Cook.
Davis bettered his previous starting pos itio n in round two by nailing
a perfect start ahead of Pa u l Cortez,
Kied row ski , G love r a nd Lawrence.
Cortez immediately dropped o u t of
the top five whi ch a llowed Lamson
to su rface in fifth.
Up front Kiedro ski began pressurin g Davis a nd wi thi n th ree laps held
the lead . O nce into th e lead , Kiedrowski slowly managed to open u p
a sm all cus hion as G lo ver edged near
Davis. Wi th less than three la ps

rider and cha lle nged for th e runn erup slot. Shortly before th e fini sh

for and powered past Davis. O n th e
la st lap, Da vis' expected attempt to

with a n inj u red rig h t leg . Lawrence
was fourth with Lamson ho lding off
Mulli gan for fifth.

by G lover's 4-2, Lawrence 's 3-4 a nd

The Suzuki ride r gated well out of
th e top 10, but' quickly sho t in to
fourth behind Ka lo s. H alfwa y
th rough th e race, Kiedrowski reeled
in Gl ov er , began pressuring th e
Yamaha' rider and soon found hi s
way aro und Glover and into the
point positi on.
Less th an half a lap aft er bein g
shoved to seco nd G lover cras hed and
fell back to fourth . G lover quick ly
str ugg led to get bac k up to speed,
but II was too la te. Kied ro wski took
the chec ker s o ver Kal a s; Dav is,

Naughton co me o ut o f nowhere to
lead Glover, Kal os, Kied rowski and
Willie Surratt around th e first turn.
Naughton's lead was short-lived as
the Suzuki pi lo t dropped back to
fourth. As th e pack ca me a ro u nd to
complete lap two, Larry Broo ks had
worked his way to fo urt h, dro pping
Na ughton to fifth a nd Surratt to
sixth.
On top, G lo ver ma naged to gai n
a li tt le breat hing room for a while
befo re Ka los pi cked up hi s p ace and
began knocking o n hi s back door.
T he last few laps sa w a battle rage
between the pair with G lover manag ing to hold off Kal o s for th e win
a head of Kiedro wski , Broo ks and
Lamson.

The 2-2 score gave Kal a s th e
o vera ll victory with Kied ro wski ,
Glover, Lamson a n d Naughton
roundi ng out the top five.
