In th e first moto of the 125cc Beginn er class, Mich ael Edwards grabb ed th e holeshot fol.lowed by Brian Pridemore, John Clifford and J o hn Thorton. Edwards and Pridemore immediatel y began pulling away from the pack leaving'Clifford and T horton to battle for third. Without even one' la p down, Thorton had ma naged to squeeze past Clifford fo r a secure third. Up front, Edwards had p ulled to a five-second lead over Pridemore, with Clifford riding Thorton's rear -fender trying to get back the third posi tion. As the duo came up the freewa y Thorton bobbled, allowing Clifford tb sneak by ' to take over third. Although Thorton remounted quickly, it was not enough as Clifford would hold onto third for the checkered with Thorton ·ta king fourth and Edwards and Pridemore claiming first and second. Edwards again came up with th e hol eshot in moto two followed cloesly by Pridemore, Clifford, Thorton and Derren Clifford. By the end of lap one Pridemore had taken over first with Edwards trying to hold off John Clifford for third. For the next few laps the top five saw no changes until C lifford went inside on Edwaids to take over second. At the checkered flag Pri demore took the wi n along wi th the overall for the day with his 2-1 finishes followed by J o h n Cliffo rd , Edwards, Derren Clifford and Steve n Knox.
