Lechi en was lo ng gone by this tim e a nd cruised in for th e win follow ed by Keller, Kessler , J ohnson and McMillen . In th e 60cc (10- 11) cl as s, th e Ka wasa ki KX60s ca me buzzing ou t of the ga te for the firs t mota with Rya n Kai ch en taking the holeshot and never looking back. He was fo llowed by Viv Guisti, Will Snook and Eri n Rand. By the second go around, Snook sn uc k by Guisti and set hi s sig h ts o n Kaich en , but it was to no avai l. O n the th ird lap Zegin Bragun began making a charge to th e front of th e pac k, getti ng by Rand a nd the n dis p laci ng Gu isti for th e third spot. At th e fini sh it was Kaich en with th e win followed by Snook, Bragun a nd Guisti. The fin al moto was pretty much th e same as Kai ch en , once again, powered hi s littl e 60 to th e front foll owed by Snoo k, Gui sti a n d Bragun. At th e end of three laps th e order was sa me, a nd Kai ch en took th e overall victory foll o wed by Snook and Guisti. David Vezek took hi s Ka wasak i to the fro nt of the pack in the first 80cc (12- 13) mo ta with Wa yn e ' Scott, Keith Troccoli a nd T y Braun on his tai l. Braun q ui ckl y passed Troccoli and set his sights o n Scott, but time . ra n out before he cou ld get by. At the end of th e four- lap race it was Vezek followed by Scott Braun and T roccoli. Wh en th e gat e dropped for the fin al moto, Vezek go t a good jump o n the pa ck o nce agai n, but this tim e it wasn 't so easy. Vezek and Yamaha rid er Damien Pl otts swa p ped ' th e lead throughout th e ra ce wi th Vezek on tap. Scott kept th e battle in sight but co u ld n' t challe nge a nd eventually lost third to Braun at the end. .Jun ior Nadeau parted a sea of green o n his Honda to lead th e 125cc Amateur Division B class int o th e first turn in mota o ne. Doug Iddings was on hi s ta il wai ting for a mistake, and th e pair was foll owed by Dan Mill er and Ken Sheerer. Sh eerer found a way past Miller on th e seco nd lap, and as th e first two put som e distance on the pa ck, Vezek worked his way up from a seventhplace start. On th e sixth of seven laps Idd in g mad e his move to the fro nt a nd held it to the flag . Nadeau was second follwed by Sheerer and J ay Lync h. . Wh en th e gate dropped for the fin al mota it wa s Steve Gibony gelling the j u m p followed by Idd in gs, Sheerer and Mill er. After pl aying second fiddle for most of the first race, Iddings quickly pulled ahead of Giboney a nd ' th e two held th e ta p spo ts to th e end. Nadeau worked h is way up from a fifth -p lace start and began his march up th e ladder by displaci ng Mill er and th en Sheerer on two consecuti ve laps. H e th en set his sig hts on th e leaders but couldn' t break inta th e ta p two. . After falling to th e back of the pack off th e start, Hank Moree mad e the best charge of the race. By th e second lap he had passed eight rid ers; on la p three he passed four more, th en he settled into sixth o n th e white flag lap a nd made it up one more notch a t the chec kers. The fin al order was Iddin g s, G ib o n ey, N ad eau a n d Moree. In th e first 250cc' Novice Division A mo ta , Brian Behrman sho t hi s H onda out into th e lead a nd was never headed thro ughout the six -lap race . Rich Rogers placed hi s Suzuki behi nd Beh rm an follow ed by Ed Grimm, Ron Lehkan a nd Pete Nicolosi. Lehkam bobbled, leuing N icolosi and J eff Prich ard by, and Nico,Iosi advanced a no ther position 0ll the third la p and moved into second by the end of th e race. T om Do wd got hi s Suzuki up from a 13th-pl ace start to eig h th by th e third go-around and fifth by th e end' of the mota. Wh en th e flag fell it was Behrman a hea d of N icol o si , Grimm a n d P richard. In moto two Behrman clicked off a nothe r pot ent start, leading th e pack thro ugh the firs t tu rn and fo r the rest of the race. N icol osi held down second until he cra shed o ut o n th e last lap. H e was replaced by Prich ard , who was foll owed by Grimm and Rogers. Behrman 's hat tri ck gave him th e overall victory ahea d of Prich ard, Grimm, Rogers a nd Dowd. Vic Reval flew his big-bore Kawasaki into th e lead in the first O pen Amateur cla ss moto a nd was fol lowed by St eve Bissenger , Kirk Rogers a nd Derron Reich ard. Rogers Mike Pascarella (62) chases Jeff Ward in a 250cc Expert class moto. Pascarella was the overall winner and Ward ended up third overall. made his way past both Reval a nd Bissin ger to tak e th e lead on the th ird la p before he di sappeared from th e fray. Bissinger took over in first, but on ly for one lap as he fell back down to third by th e end of th e ra ce due to th e effo rt s of J am es Cusson. Cus son bad moved up from a seventh place start to third o n th e fifth lap, adv anced to second o n the white flag lap and took th e lead before th e checkered flag fell. H e wa s followed home by Reval , Bissinger a nd Mike Wass, who had worked hi s way through th e pack after a dism al start. Cusson ca me back a nd grabbed th e holeshot a t th e start of mo to two followed by J ohn Bach or, Reval an d Wass. Wh il e Cusson led ev ery moment of th e race, Bach or started making his move down the rost er and finis hed up in fou rt h . After first being passed by Reval , Bissinger recovered fro m a fifth -place start and climbed to th ird by the whi te flag and held on to th e position beh ind Rivas a t th e finish. There wa s a speci al team race during intermission which paired a mini class rider with a pro ri der . The race feat ured a two -lap, two- mo ta format and the winni ng duo would wa lk a way. wi th a pair of n ew Kaw asa ki KX60s dona ted by a local dealer. T he big battle was between J ohn Kitsch , who was teamed up with J ason Fowler, and Eddie Warren , who .had 80cc (14-15) class winner Sco tt Sheak as a teammate. Kitsch and Warren went at it in a close battle, with Kitsch holding Warren off for the win. The " real" mini racers would be th e deciding facto r," a nd Sh eak went o u t and rode a safe race for third to take the team overall victory a nd the new mi ni. - Results 60 (10 -11): 1.
