Aides for Democratic Presidential
candidate and Massachusetts
Gov. Michael Dukakis have indicated that the state's Motorcycle
Safety Fund will be restored
during the fiscal 1989"year which
began October 1 . Earlier this year,
Dukakis vetoed the fund in an
effort to help balance the state's
budget. Frank Keefe, secretary for
the state's office for administration and finance stated, "In the
next appropriate supplemental
budget request, it is my int e ntio n
to incl ud e a proposal for motorcycle safety programs, to be
supported from t he existing
Motorcycle Safety Fund." Motorcyclist groups had p lanned a
weekend long ' sit-in at the Massachusetts State House on the
weekend of September 23. In an
attempt to avert the p lanned
demonstrat ion, Dukakis a ides
requested a meeting with protest
organizers. Bill Gannon, repres-
eriting the Motorcyclist Riders
Foundation and the AMA, was
among the motorcyclist activists
who met with representatives of
the Governor's office on September 23 . " Be fo re I attended
that meeti ng the Boston Po lice
Department had endorsed (Re publican Presidential cand idate
and Vice President) George Bush
and he was going to appea r in
Boston to accept their endorsement the day before our s it -in w a s

Department contacted us an d

Road Race sporting a crossover exhaust system built by Rob Muzzy.
Reportedly, Muzzy wouldn't take a cent for his efforts, saying only that
"it seemed like a neat project." The new pipes boost peak horsepower.
