Dear Daytona: A short note to express my appreciation to one of your (secu rity) ' officers. On September 5, my three nephews stopped at the track. They were visi ting from Darb y, England, and they rea lly wa nted to see the circuit. A guard there was kind enough to give a close-up look of the Speedway to them. I know that it was a highlight of their vacation. Syd 's Cycles has been goi ng to Dayto na for ' the past 25 years and we've never had a problem with track security. In fact, my da ugh ters were escorted d irectly to o ur gara ge a few years ago whe n they had forgotten th eir pit passes at the hotel. It 's thi s kind of kindness that ma kes the mo to rcycle raci ng worthw hi le.
