As the ligh t turned green to start
the five lap das h, the ominous dark
clouds li ngering over head sprink led
a few large drops and everyone held
their breath for the nex t 3 mi n utes,
3.614 seconds.

Parker, Ingram and Poovey in tow.

Last Chance Qualfier
Tammy Kirk led the first two laps
of the La st Ch ance Qualifier but then
an ignition system wire came loose
and dropped her to the back of th e
field. She fixed the problem but then
a piston brok e and her day was over.

to three-time Grand Na tional Ch am p io n Springsteen.

Shobert led the first lap wi th the

the end of the fifth la p the order was

Du rell e, Parker, Carr, Day, H erridon
a nd Poovey - all running in a tight
drafting and passin g pack.
