Pons countered the move, Garriga back ed off and the victory went to th e Honda rider. "My bike is fast and I knew I could pass him on the last lap. Every race It gets better," Pons said. " I had to dose th e door o n him and maybe I touched him with my leg. Down th e straight o n the last lap I kn ew he would try a nd co me past and I was just far eno ugh in front and th en with only one corner to go he could not pass." Garriga's view was considera bly differen t, " I go t alongside and he just barged into me a nd p ushed me out of th e way," he sai d. " It was n' t fair. " The wi n added three points to Pons' lead , some thing both men had on their m inds. " With three races left I must work harder to win them ," Garriga said. Pons said , " I a m very h app y because I m ust win to tak e three points more. Every week the bike is better.
