Editor. Full attention to AMA/CCS Three years ago the AMA gave me the opportunity to get involved "in the operation of their Camel Pro Series road race program. I wonder if perhaps I let my ego get ahead of my abi lities as I find myself three years down the road feeling that I have not met the goals I set for pro fessio nal or Championship Cup Series raci ng. My fina l professional event as Nat ional Roadrace Coordina tor will be Sears Point in Octob er. My wife Peggy and I will then return o ur fu ll attention to the Championship Cup Series to make of it wha t God and opportunity will allow. I thank the AMA for giving me the chance to participate in th e Cam el Pro Series a nd am also.grateful to R.J. Reynolds, the promoters, and th e sta ff members who have work ed with me. I especially am gra tefu l for th e riders who gave me the only two things I ask ed for: time to make things better, and an understanding th a t we would disagree from tim e to tim e, but th a t there was no need to be disagreeable. They have been o utstand ing in both areas. I "encourage th em to give my successor and hi s staff th e same co urtesies. Peggy a n d I will co n ti n ue to operate AMAlCCS and will still be offering o ur National Supersport and Endurance programs to the Camel P ro promoters.
