Also com pleting a clean sweep was Georgie Price who once again topped the l25 cc Schoolboy cla ss, this time ou t leading J ake Zemke a nd . Wait across the finish line. Price had to work extra hard for th e win this tim e ou t as Zemke came u p from a fifth pl ace start to glue him self to Price's rear wh eel after two laps. The pair battled right down to the finish with Pri ce gett ing th e nod and bo th riders getting cheers fro m the cro wd, Price for winning yet a no the r championship and Zemke for n earl y upsett ing the multi- tim e champ . Kevin Varnes, wh o fini shed fourth in the l 25cc Schoolboy fin al , came home the winner over Zemke and J.P. Simsonsen in the I25cc Amateur final. Pegram had had enough of finishing second to Price in th e 250cc Amateur class and he stormed to th e lead on the fairgrounds oval and buil t up an uncatchable lead to win . over Price and H.P. Hiatt. Pegram came right back and chalked up his thi rd straigh t win in 5011cc Amat eu r competition, topping Paul Polhemus and Will iam Ru ssell this time ou t. P rice's string of wi ns was broken in the Open Ama teur final as T im Selby was first across the finish line, . ahead of Price and Lance Strong. Selby had followed those two across the li ne at Bellingham and had fin ished fourth at Castle Rock. Danny Stanley remained unbeatab le in 250cc Pro-Am competition but met defeat in the 500cc Pro-Am class as Cory Perrea ult , who had finished third at both Bellingham and Cas tle Rock, ca me home the victor a t Ch ehal is. Former Grand National Championship Series competitor and twotime Nation al Championship TT winner Sonny Burres was a last minute en try in th e .40-p lu s Senior division and he wasted no tim e in showing that he still kn ow s how to get aroun d a dirt track. T he o ther class heat race was won by Seattle 's Roger Sta n ley, who is known for the suppor t he provided to Mickey Fay over th e years. Wh en the final roc keted off th e start it was Burres with the holesh ot, follo wed by Stanley, Mike Annen , Gary Hite and the rest of the field. Bu rres looked right athome and he left th e field in his dust, but his ride came to an end when th e Triumph's clutch gave up the fight. With Burres sidelined th e fight for the win was being waged by Stanley and Annen and after a lead-swa pp ing duel th e nod went to Annen over Stanley. • Jerod Moore. mixed it up with Currey and Souza in the 50cc Stock class at all t hree events, and logged a win at the Bellingham Short T rack.
