MOT 0 eye R L E There's no other feeling like if in the world . . . This is the magazine you have been waiting fOr: Road racing. High speed. One hundred sixty-seventy-eighty miles an hour. Neck and neck. Down the straight. Around the sweeper. Through the chicane. Road racing. That's horsepower and speed. On the pavement. On the race track. From around the worldand across the country. Motorcycle road racing. There's really no other feeling likeit in the world. Now there is a glossy, full-color magazine that specializes in bringing road racing into your home. In an exciting package unlike any other motorcycle magazine currently published in the United States. J six or eight. You wheelie up th e hill, with yo ur kn ees tight, butt back and setting the fron t wheel down on the tops o f th e bum ps. ' '' And when yo u come over th e top of th at, it's real smooth; a little bit of a downhill, kind of like a saddle, ride down th e hill, ba ck u p th en take a h ard righ t, th en go over a hum p before you go down Screw-U. . " It's third gear, wide o pe n for about a seco n d, th en you 're h a mme rin' on th e bra kes. I us uall y ta ke the left side when so me bo dy is goi ng down i t in fron t of m e, and I u sually cu t th em o ff a t th e bo ttom. If you're good o n th e brakes you can p ass there every lap. Taking th e right side all the wa y do wn and sweeping the bo ttom tu rn a nd . up the hill is probably the fastest line, bu t the left side is eas ier to get to and makes i t easier to cut the guy off at the bottom. The guy that goes to the right has to'go a little slower going down, but he's going to be a lot faster coming up, so you go by him on the left and you just stop down there on the bottom and m ak e him stop too. That slows his drive up the hill. If you don't stop him , h e'll pass yo u ba ck o n the uphil l. It 's steep. ' '' Yo u come fly ing 20-30 feet o u t of Screw-U where it drops down o n th e other side. You 're in third, hit fourth going into a cl im bin g rig h t hand turn. It drops away and yo u're wheelying all th e way; all o f a sudde n th e bike drops away , you 're st ill touching th e ground bu t barely. You're just hauling - i t's a fu n section. It's like yo u 're just fallin g negative Gs . Then i t starts compressing pretty good at the bottom, and then you 'll hit some kickers , and if you ge t on the bra kes over the kic kers at th e same ti me, the bike will kic k th e heck out of you. It's better to ru n o n through them wide open, and then brake real late. " T h en you come back up a little bit and you drop off into a two-berm, ' 180°, off-camber lef t tum. Then you come up a h ill about 40 feet, and when yo u cres t that, yo u're back on the start tum. In th a t straight you stay away from the bogs. I like the left si de w ide open all the . way ttirough, and sweep i t all th e way aroun d. T hat straight is the only place on the wh o le track where yo u ca n rest, the n yo u have to do it all over again. " It 's a th inker track, you 're not just . si tti n ' down wide open ~ i t makes you th ink. You don't have time to si t down o n th e sea t and say 'ah, tha t was fun ,' I m ean, yo u 're ~oin g 45 min u tes - yo u're thin ki ng. It 's exci ti n g." • This is the magazine.
