FLAT TRACK AMERICAN FLAT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP ROUNDS 1 & 2/JULY 17-18, 2020 VOLUSIA SPEEDWAY PARK/BARBERSVILLE, FLORIDA P70 the large contingency posted by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company as he led the first main event of 2020, until turn three of the last lap. Rispoli and Ryan Varnes (RVR/Roy Built/Don's Kawasaki, Kawasaki Ninja 650) had hooked up in the semi and Varnes had made a last- lap pass for the win by going inside in turn three. "He had passed me on the inside in turn three in the semi, so I was trying to protect the bottom," said Rispoli. Varnes had other plans. "I figured I had to get aggressive out there in that main event. James rode a solid race the whole time and didn't really leave any open- ings for me. I kind of just made my opportunity that one lap and he was we didn't even qualify for the main event," Daniels said. "It's just awesome to have this great team behind me. We've got our work cut out for us now, but we're going to make a fight for this championship. I think we showed that tonight. I'm just pumped." Daniel's victory was almost snatched away as Shayna Texter (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing/ Motorex, KTM 450 SX-F) powered her way to within inches of the win. Rush held on for third over Cose and Kitchen. AFT PRODUCTION TWINS James Rispoli (Latus Motors Rac- ing/Probeam, Harley-Davidson HG750R) looked poised to collect Mikey Rush (14) leads Estenson Yamaha teammate Dallas Daniels (32) in what was one of the most entertaining Singles finals on record. An eight-rider pack fought for the lead throughout the race that saw at least three different riders lead the race and countless passes for positions behind them. Two laps from the finish, the red flag came out setting the stage for a staggered-start sprint to the finish. Shayna Texter got around Rush on the last lap and nearly nipped Daniels, who started to celebrate the win a little too early unaware Texter was making a run on him, at the checkered flag. Daniels took the win by a scant 0.020 seconds over Texter. Rush took third and Cose fourth.
