Peick Announces Retirement W eston Peick announced his retirement from profession- al racing. The serious injuries that he sustained while racing at the Paris Supercross at the end of 2018 proved to be insurmount- able, with his right eye still not back to 100 percent nearly two years later. Peick had a very untraditional professional racing career. After coming up through the ranks as an amateur, culminating in a class win at Loretta Lynn's ama- teur motocross championship in 2008, he did not get any offers from any of the top 250 factory or support teams. He put in sev- eral years as a privateer, often beating factory-supported riders. He finally got a ride with the RCH Suzuki team midway through the 2014 season and then moved onto the JGR team for 2015. He rode for JGR (first on Yamahas and then Suzukis) from 2015 through 2018. After taking all of 2019 and half of 2020 off in an effort to recover from the Paris Supercross injuries, he has now decided to retire from profes- sional racing. CN IN THE WIND P38 Motocross/ supercross veteran Weston Peick says he's officially retired as a professional racer.
