Whale was eventually able to open a small lead, but
Cose, Wiles, Mikey Rush (Estanson Racing/Yamaha Rac-
ing/Monster, Yamaha YZ450F), Tanner Dean (1st Impres-
sion Race Team/Floridian Plumbing, Honda CRF450R)
and Brandon Kitchen (Donley Excavating/TCD Suspen-
sion, KTM 450 SX-F) all finished about one second behind.
Night two was even wilder as 10 to 12 riders battled for
the lead. Rush led early then gave way to Cose only to see
Rush back in front on lap seven. Cose then took over until
lap twenty when a new player emerged. Dallas Daniels (Es-
tenson Racing/Yamaha Racing/Monster, Yamaha YZ450F)
pushed his way into a narrow lead.
As time was running out, Aidan Roosevans (Roof Sys-
tems of Dallas, TX/Vance & Hines, Yamaha YZ450F)
crashed in turn four. Daniels was able to get a perfect
restart with the remainder of the field in hot pursuit. "It's

Jared Mees has jumped out to the points
lead in the AFT SuperTwins class with 50, 10
ahead of the defending champ Briar Bau-
man. The AFT Singles class is paced by Max
Whale, just one point ahead of Chad Cose.
Defending class champion, Cory Texter, has
a two-point lead over James Rispoli in the
AFT Production Twins class.
GROOVY
The Volusia Speedway Park oval sported a
pretty wide groove on Friday and even larger
on Saturday, but as often happens with a
very fast clay track even though the groove
is wide, the fastest way around is still narrow.
The racing was close and exciting. After a
late-race restart, less than a second sepa-
rated the top eight riders in the Singles main.

Australian Max Whale (18)
captured his first career AFT
win after an impressive ride
on Friday. The Kawasaki rider
worked his way to the front and
held off the pack the rest of the
way. Whale, however, couldn't
find the magic Saturday night,
finishing eighth. Chad Cose
took second on the night.
