Mark Bolton leads the 125cc A pack through the first turn at Shady Hillside. Bolton took the overall wins in both the 125 and 250cc A classes. Jimmy Kight took his Honda and topped Nick Young and John Condon to win the 125cc Intermediate class at the Pearsonville MX. Browns Yamaha and C & G Trucking, in front until the checkers. William Luker came up th ro ug h the pack of Novice riders that were sharing the race track (scored separately) but was unable to close much on Willard or Ferravanti. The senior Ferravanti showed he would be a contender in the final when he walked away with the hea t race win. Staying .close and worrying Ferravanti was the only two -stroke rider, Kevin Crowley on a Yamaha. The gree n light in the final again saw Crowley side by. side with the Rotax of Ferravanti, who has the same sponsors as his son. But by the middle of the back stretch on lap one it was already clear that if Crowley was going to do well he would first have to catch Ferravan ti. . A pre-start jump by Randy Bereman on the only other Ro tax entered landed him a penalty line assign men t. By mi d-race Bereman was working on Crowley and finally got him with a low -line pass in turn one. Crowley hung on for third, John . Pack finished fourth. . T he only double winner on the evening was Da n Argano on his wellprepared Honda short trackers. Dan worked hard for every victory and near victory andat evening's end he had 'amassed two first place trophies and one second place. The wins for Dan came in the 250cc and 600cc Novice finals with ten competitors in the firs t and five competitors in the second. His only non-win, a second p lace, was in the 500cc Novice class final when he battled with ten other riders. In the 250cc final, Argano got off ' the line in the customary slow start and only with hard drives into the corn ers was he able to gain second place. Early leader Adam Enticknap was black-flagged when his exhaust system came adrift at the cylinder exhaust port. Argano hung on for the win over Shawn Edwards on another Honda. T he second win was another case of Argano fi~hting back from a poor start and this time he inherited the lead when leader Mark Sheppards' chain derailed and locked up the back wheel. Argano fought off Robert Akins for ten more laps to . take the win. The second place finish for Argano occurred in the 500cc Novice final when he passed five riders to gain second place and the leader, again Enticknap on a Honda, was able to finish the race without a . problem. Finishing third in this one was Greg Sowle on a Yamaha. Results PIW: 1. Mi chae l Han nas (Suz ); 2. Jesse Daw son (Vam); 3. Ricky Ham mond (Vam); 4.
