Farnum had his work" cut out for him in the main event as he had to square off against Bobby Schwartz, Brad Oxley and Steve Lucero. To make matters tougher, Farnum drew the number four starting SIOL Things started going Farnum's way when Oxley broke a primary chain as he pulled up to ' the line. Schwartz shot his Weslake into the lead when the field hit turn one. Farnum took the J R Concrete Pumping/Justice Bro thers/ Cody Racing Jawa wide off turn two and go t around Lucero for second in turn three. Crozier on top at Echeconnee MX By Toni Anthoni MACON, GA, MAY 22 Honda support rider Mark Crozier and Team Green's Ezra Lu sk were double clas s winners for th e opening race at the new Echeconnee MX near Macon. More than than 200 riders from four states were greeted by a well prepared track that featured a sandy surface that brought nothing but compliments from the riders. Crozier took home the majority of cash by taking both motos of the 125cc A class. Alabama's Darryl Heisler placed second each time. Crozier als o pulled a double in the 250cc A class with Georgia Cycle Supply 's T o m m y Martin taking runner-up. Kawasaki 's Ezra Lusk totally dominated both the Senior Mini and , Super Mini classes. Lusk clearly had no equal as he topped the 30-plus riders in the Senior Mini class with Scott, PJ I-spo nsored Andre Pene pl acing second with a 2-3 score. Lusk retu rn ed to capture each of th e Super Mini classes over runner-up Ryan Reynolds. . In the very competitive 125cc B class, Team Jesus rider Ross Johnson was the man to beat, As the gate dropped on the opening moto Gabe Gaddis stuck his H o nda into the lead =:> with Johnson at his rear wheel. On the second lap Gaddis went down, handing the lead to Johnson. Johnson took advantage of the opportunity and motored to the win. Chance Mathews stormed back from a 10th place start to take second with Jason Colman third. ' In moto two Mathews powered his R&D Suzuki into the lead with Johnson and Colman in tow. Mathews continued to lead into lap two when his motor went south. This left Johnson in the lead with Colman trying in vain to make up some ground. Hagan tops Sears Point RR By Tony Sakkis SONOMA, CA, MAY 22 Jeff Hagan won two races at the fourth AFM road race of the year at Sears Point Raceway, nearly pulling off another of his patented hat tricks. Except for the riding of Scott Gray, Hagan would have made it six for six this season. Having competed in only two of the three previous race weekends and going three for three on the first weekend out - Hagan looked like the man to bea t in three categories - 750 Production , O pen G P a nd 750 Superstreet , In the 750 Production race , Hagan jumped into the lead shortly after the green flag dropped and led the pack around the 2.5 mile circuit. Coming around for the first time, Hagan led Gray past the stripe, but this would be the only time as Gray passed in _ the Carousel and never relinquis hed h is lead. Hagan's fou rth stra ight victory was not to be. ' In his second race , the Open GP event, Ha~n vindicated himself by jumping Into the lead immediately at the first turn , leading bell to bell " and taking the checkered. His closest competitor, Phil Kress, gave a great/l performance, but in the end it wasn't good enough to catch Hagan. .• In 750 Superstreet, the Oakland resident repeated himself leading Jim Jepsen flag-to-Ilag for the WIn. ! It was apparent that Hagan was unhappy about losing the first event to Gray and was trying to make up') for it later in the afternoon. A In other action, the 600 SuperstreetJ race found itself delayed due to a deere on the track. ' After a few comments , by announcer Ralph Sheehen about how , much Sonoma deer enjoy watching AFM racing, the deer was finall y guided off the track. Sears is~ probably the only race co urse in the .r nation that has a deer flag in its assortment of warning flags. An animal loving race fan was over heardsaying, "How long does It take to ) run over ' a deer with a tow truck , anyway?" Nevertheless, the deer was removed unharmed. R"u~ ~ F-1 : 1.
